Description

HDMI CAT5 Extender

1080P @ 30M Lengths

480P @ 60M Lengths

Perfect for long distance signal transmission, that would be otherwise not possible.

Run up to 60 metres with minimal signal loss!

What does the package include?

1 x Transmitter

1 x Receiver

1 x Instruction Booklet

1 x Power Source 100-240V, 5V Output

The power source needs to be plugged into the HDMI receiver, it is sometimes not required depending on how much power there is already within your set-up.

How do I set it up?

The HDMI CAT5 transmitter sits next to your source, such as a Blu-ray player and is connected to the source by a HDMI cable. The receiver should be plugged into an output device such as a HDTV, using a HDMI cable. Two runs of network cable, which can be up to 60 metres in length and should be wired in the 568B format are then to be run in between the transmitter and receiver.

Why buy?

Our HDMI RJ45 extender allows installers to take advantage of network cable for connecting HDMI devices over long distances. Network cable is most commonly used for computer networking, it is readily available and is very cheap. An RJ45 extender device such as this is a much more cost effective way to connect devices over long distances without loss of signal quality, (HDMI cables could only be run up to 15 metres, would require a lot of shielding and would be very expensive). Network cable is relatively thin and flexible so it is easily installed, for example through walls. It can be self terminated which allows for tailored lengths to meet the exact requirements of any home or commercial installation.

Specification

Distance – Actual usable distance between the transmitter and receiver will vary on a number of factors including strength of signal, quality of terminations and local sources of interference. The use of FTP cable CAT5e/CAT6 when being run passed power cables would also benefit the signal.

Build Quality – These units have a data speed of 1.65GB per second on each pair and a total speed of 4.95GB per second.

The units are well built and are compact. They have a durable metal chassis.

Gold Plated Connectors – to increase signal quality.

Cables – In order to produce the best quality over long distances, we would recommend use of high quality cables, running to and from the transmitter and receiver. Please view our shop to find suitable cables. If you need guidance, please email us. The use of pure copper CAT5e/CAT6 is recommended.
